J D Wetherspoon – IT Project Manager Dec 2012 to present

  • Responsible for the project portfolio for the Aztec EPOS and Stock Management software product that processes approximately £1.5B of sales transactions per year
  • Set up and managed a continuous improvement process for managing system changes to reduce the delivery and benefit realisation timeframes
  • Implemented a new multi-currency Aztec solution to support a new pub opening in southern Ireland
  • Managed the Aztec EPOS and Stock Management system upgrade into 900 pubs including the head office transaction and reporting databases plus data interfaces to SAP, Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse systems through the full project lifecycle from initiation, requirements gathering, testing implementation and handover into business as usual support
  • Delivered the RezLynx hotel reservations system upgrade for all J D Wetherspoon hotels
  • Project managed multiple ResourceLink HR and Payroll system upgrades including the delivery of workplace pensions reforms functionality for circa 30,000 employees on both weekly and monthly payroll runs.

 

Travis Perkins Group - IT Project Manager 2010-Dec 2012

  • Responsible for the project portfolio for the Wickes Stores Systems software product that processes approximately £1B of sales transactions per year
  • Managed multiple SCRUM teams to deliver required functionality
  • Set up a new internal software development team of 9 persons to provide the analysis, design, development, test, deployment and 3rd line support of the Wickes Stores System software product
  • Managed the Stores System upgrade of 223 stores which involved the development of 100+ software defects, the build and installation of 223 new servers, re-imaging 2000 tills/PCs, and new HHT hardware which delivered a total operational resource saving of 20,000 man days per year
  • Delivered a fully encrypted card payment solution to enable the Stores System to meet PCIDSS compliance requirements
  • Managed multiple development work streams to support the group multichannel programme
  • Project managed a bespoke route optimisation solution that integrated with the Paragon routing application that processes circa £350M of customer orders nationwide per year

Wessex Water – IS Project Manager 2007-2009

  • Managed a multi-million pound 2000+ user work and asset management programme through the requirements analysis, design, development, and testing phases to work stream 1 live deployment; the solution included Hansen Work and Asset Management, Click Scheduling, Microsoft Dynamics CRM plus bespoke integration engine and mobile applications; managed a team of 15 internal/external IT and business resources; ownership of PID, risk and issue logs.
  • Delivered a web based customer payments application that integrated with corporate finance and work management applications replacing a paper based business process from initial business case to live service.
  • Implemented a water distribution risk assessment solution as an integrated module to a geographical information system, plus delivered a feasibility report on a possible phase 2.
  • Observed client information management policies focussed around mobile application and third party data management and security.

HFEA – Technical Project Manager 2006

  • Appointed to identify IT requirements within the business completing detailed analysis to prioritise projects and produce a programme of work for 2006/2007 gaining senior management approval.
  • Provided programme advice and consultancy for OGC Gateway 5 pre-assessment audit of IVF Treatment RDBMS Audit Programme.
  • Successfully delivered a range of technical based projects within the required timescales for the programme of work including the resource planning of the existing IT development team.
  • Managed an EDI implementation into 82 IVF clinics to support the reduction of input errors and improvements in lead time for returned treatment forms.
  • Effectively implemented an automated billing application; reduced the staff overhead by 5 with an increase in revenue of 5%.
  • Delivered a secure on-line license application for the Human Tissue Authority on time and budget from initial quotation to post go-live support.

Metronet SRA IS – IS Manager 2003-2005

  • IS Manager for six business units with 400 users and a turnover in excess of £100M
  • Responsible for providing strategic IT Support/consultancy services for business re-organisation plus project managing many business focused projects with a proven record of achievement delivering to time, budget and customer satisfaction.
  • Handled the implementation of the Ellipse corporate asset management system into six business units; completed business process re-engineering and reduced legacy applications by 50%.
  • Managed a £500k office refurbishment project successfully increasing desk density by 25%.
  • Advised and delivered a number of software upgrades/changes to the IBS business critical ERP application which provided a 10% functionality increase.

  • Appointed to manage the migration of the Kings Cross 80 user standalone network at two separate locations onto the corporate WAN including replacement desktops, server migrations, new LES circuit, application model office testing and migration plus the introduction of the corporate IT support process (outsourced to a 3rd party)
  • Produced project documentation in line with PRINCE2 methodology; Statements of Requirements, Terms of Reference, Project Initiation Documents, Risk Logs, Projects Plans, Activity Schedules, Weekly RAG Reports, End of Project Reports.
  • Successfully managed the implementation of a change management software application; managed the redesign of business processes prior to the application delivery.

Metronet REW – IT Manager 1999-2003
